Cape Cod!

And the winner is--Cape Cod!! We'll be heading there sometime this summer. We are VERY excited! I'm hopeful that this will be a better move for us all around. For starters, we won't have a house to try and sell. That is probably the BEST thing about renting. I've always felt that renting was a step backwards for us since we've owned 2 houses already, but, after our last experience of having to live apart while we waited for the house to sell...I'm all for renting! Secondly, we're not moving in the middle of the school year like last time, so I think this will be A LOT easier on Anderson. Starting in a new school and trying to make friends is hard enough, but starting in the middle of the year? That was a BIG adjustment for him. Finally, we're not leaving our hometown, so it will be easier to say goodbye. We've made some great friends here, don't get me wrong, but...it's just different than when we left our friends and family in NY, and a community in which we were deeply rooted. I start to get a little panicky when I think about all that has to be done to coordinate another move, from finding a rental house to unpacking...again. And I get a little sad when I think about leaving someplace that we've only just begun to explore and the good friends we've made. But...this is the life we signed up for so we're going to make the best of it. David is excited about his new job. The ONE not-so-good thing is that this is a deployable position for him. Which means that it is possible (likely?) that at some point in his 3 years there that he will deployed for a length of time. We need to find out more information about that--it depends on when the last time that unit was deployed as they are on a 5 year rotation. But, again, we will take that as it comes. For now we're just going to enjoy the time we have left in Cleveland while looking ahead to Cape Cod! Wish us luck!!
